After taking last summer off from weddings I was quickly reminded why I love photographing weddings so much. It is an entire day where I get to celebrate and serve my clients who feel more like family. It’s a day where I am able to completely get lost in other people. After spending the summer with my family, it was such an incredible gift to spend a gorgeous December day with Joe and Kalista.

Joe and Kalista’s wedding was my last wedding of my 2023 season and it was a day that I will always remember.

There is something magical about winter weddings. From the elegant colors, to the brisk temperatures, the early sunsets and the possibility of snow. Joe and Kalista’s dreamy winter wedding reception was no exception to a magical day. As an Idaho Wedding Photographer I was jumping for joy when I took a look at the forecast for Joe and Kalista’s dreamy wedding. Partly cloudy sky's and 35 degrees. Something that is very rare in Idaho in December.

This was a very special wedding for me. Joe is my nephew and I have watched this young man grow up from his toddling years of digging in the dirt and chatting your ear off to the amazing young man he is today. Joe and Kalista finally were able to properly celebrate with their closest friends and family. Two years ago Joe and Kalista eloped. Joe is currently serving our country and is stationed in WA. These two love birds wanted to be married, but there was not enough time to plan the wedding of their dreams.

Two years later- this was no ordinary wedding-this was a stunning wedding reception with a very sentimental and touching vow renewal, where every detail was thought through; from the gorgeous wedding invitations to the simple and yet elegant table decorations.

Capturing the magic of this incredible day was an absolute dream for me. Joe and Kalista’s dreamy December wedding reception was the picture perfect day where joy, laughter and tears were shared. I am so excited for the two of you as you continue with your beautiful marriage.
