An Old Penitentiary Senior Session
Jordan | Timberline High School Senior
Oh! It’s your senior year. It’s the year you have been waiting for. It’s that time in your life where your childhood is coming to an end and now you have to start making big decisions. These decisions are the type of decisions that will shape your entire life.
I love senior sessions…probably because they bring me back to my childhood and all of those decisions that I once made. It brings me back to my child like self….the fond memories of high school sports, the wonderful friends and some memories of my favorite teachers. Every senior whom I capture often seems nervous about their future. Are they making the right decision? A gap year? College? Moving straight into employment? These are all very BIG decisions!
I met Jordan on the most perfect spring evening at the Old Penitentiary in Boise, Idaho. We rescheduled his session to the end of April in hopes that it would look a little more like spring in Idaho. It feels as though we have had the longest winter.
As a Boise Senior Photographer the Old Penitentiary is probably one of my favorite locations to photograph senior sessions. From the foothills, tall grass, barns, old doors, walking paths, stairs and beautiful landscaping this particular location offers a ton of variety!
Jordan is already almost done with his senior year. Jordan is a senior at Timberline High School. Not only is he a senior, Jordan, is a very talented musician. Jordan is a member in a band and is very, very active with the Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Jordan enjoyed playing the flute and the piccolo. Although, Jordan did not play the flute for me, I have no doubt that he is very, very talented. In just a few short weeks Jordan will be walking across the Timberline High School stage celebrating all of his accomplishments. Jordan plays the flute and piccolo.
Balancing school, work, practices and concerts is not always easy, but Jordan really seems to have things figured out. This was my first time meeting Jordan. He is so kind and was willing to do anything I asked him to do. He brought a wonderful attitude and smile to his session. I had so much fun getting to know Jordan and capturing this very important time in his life.
I always love telling my clients that as a Boise Senior Photographer it is my goal to capture YOU and your personality during your senior session. I believe that Jordan’s personality shines in these portraits.
I had so much fun getting to know him and taking his senior pictures. Congratulations on your upcoming graduation Jordan!
As a Boise senior photographer, one of the things I love most about my job is getting to meet incredible young people like Abby. Her senior session at the Old Idaho Penitentiary was nothing short of magical, filled with laughter, sunshine, and the kind of joy that radiates from someone with a heart as kind as hers.
From the moment Abby arrived, her smile lit up the entire space. The Old Penitentiary, with its mix of rustic stone walls and golden fall light, provided the perfect backdrop for her vibrant personality. Abby has a natural way of making everyone around her feel comfortable — and that genuine, warm energy showed through in every single photo. Her laughter was contagious, and by the end of the session, I couldn’t help but smile behind the camera the entire time.
